Dr. Mike Zalben is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Life West Chiropractic College (class of ’99), Dr. Zalben began his healing career by specializing in the treatment of injured workers (workman’s compensation) and Personal Injury victims in San Diego, California. Since then, he has devoted thousands of hours in post graduate educational programs including muscular and physical therapies, Dr. Fleet’s Zone Chiropractic Technique, Dr. Robert Boyd’s Bio-Cranial System, as well as becoming a state Qualified Medical Examiner (QME) and Industrial Disability Evaluator (IDE).
Dr. Zalben is also a member of the Concept-Therapy Institute and holds a free weekly class based on Dr. Fleet’s book, “Rays of the Dawn, The Total Health Handbook.”
Since 2002, he has practiced Zone Chiropractic, also known as Zone Healing–a holistic healing method, that treats the entire person—body, mind, and soul—in order to achieve true health and lasting wellness. Dr. Z believes that, “although the body is self-regulating and self healing, it is not self-correcting. I go to a chiropractor myself, and I will continue to get adjusted for the rest of my life!”
Furthermore he states that, “I seldom find the need to use excessive forces when adjusting the spine in order to improve one’s health, correct posture, or treat aches and pains.” Dr. Zalben believes that the key to healing from most “dis-ease” conditions resides in the cranial-sacral system—the physical structures that protect the central nervous system (brain, spinal cord, and spinal nerves). “It’s the alignment of the 22 bones that make up your head that determines your level of health and resistance to illness. When the cranial bones are aligned correctly, all you should feel is a really deep stretch from the top of your neck all the way down your spine and possibly into the pelvis. The relaxation that you experience is so profound. Once the cranial bones are in alignment, the spine virtually corrects itself, and when that happens then healing can begin to take place on the deepest levels of your being.”
